Today begins the MERCI! drawing exhibition on the Quai Wilson
it lasts from July 1st to 15th and from August 15th to 30th
In March of 2020 a horrific pandemic began. We were all confined while the medical staff began a period of health crisis of unprecedented intensity.
The public, aware of the stakes, came out every night at 8pm to applaud as a sign of encouragement and thanks to all those who were close to Covid19.
To illustrate the solidarity of the children towards the medical staff, we organized a drawing contest for the children of Geneva and surroundings so that they too could show their support towards the medical staff.
More than 200 children took part in this action with a little more than 280 drawings made.
We then published the MERCI! collection intended for the employees of the Geneva health network in which a selection of drawings was chosen.
12’000 collections were printed and distributed to the different medical institutions of the canton:
HUG, EMS, IMAD, EPI, Funeral parlours, Ambulance attendants, Clinics, duty stations…
… and for each collection given, a cupcake or a coconut rock made by Sweet Little Moments and Ateliers Serge Labrosse.
In June 2020, a poster campaign was also carried out to make the public aware of our action, then a calendar was produced at the end of December and given to the nursing staff.
Finally, the City of Geneva agreed to make available the panels of the Quai Wilson so that the Geneva public and tourists could also discover the wonderful drawings of children from 4 to 15 years old who, with their words and their imagination, have made a difference.
15 years old who, with their words and colored lines, wanted to express what the children felt during this period.
